Career Films for Kids – Carer Lucy

For this series of films we showcased jobs in various areas of leading businesses – jobs that are future-proofed, play against conventional expectations and that show people in working environments where there are opportunities for progression.  We wanted to encourage the wider audience to consider areas of employment that they may not have previously contemplated.

We chose 7 people in their twenties with a wide variety of careers all across the UK and portrayed them in their working environments.

In this film, we meet Lucy, a care-worker in Norfolk, talking about her personal motivation, the misconceptions she’s encountered, her love of the job, and the prospects available within the profession.

The Department for Education is pushing an alternative to university degrees as a career path for children and wanted to encourage kids aged 13-14 into considering an apprenticeship or other ways into the world of jobs.
